Woodrose Plant Seeds ~ Grow Hawaii |
|
 |
| The Hawaiian know me as Pilikai but
you, the visitor, know me as the Wood rose. I'm sought after for
dried flower arrangements, but did you know that I'm actually a
seed pod and not really a flower? The flower is my morning glory
and when it falls, I eventually develop. It takes three months
from blossom to rose. My vine is a vigorous grower and is a good
plant to cover walls, trellises or fences. |

Growing Instructions: File a small notch on the surface of each
seed or touch each seed with a needle that has been held in a flame until
it is red hot. Soak seeds overnight in water, then plant them ½ to ¾ inch
deep in rich sandy loam in a small container. Fasten a wire, string or
wooden trellis near the plant and place in a sunny spot, but watch that
the temperature is a comfortable 60F to 85F. After the plant has sprouted,
fertilize with a general garden fertilizer according to the instructions;
then, watch it grow! |
